Vi-Jon, LLC is expanding its voluntary recall to include all lots of all flavours of Magnesium Citrate Saline Laxative Oral Solution within expiry after a 3rd Party and Vi-Jon, LLC microbial testing identified the presence of Gluconacetobacter liquefaciens.

Risk Statement: Immunocompromised patients, who consume this product, may be at increased risk for invasive infections caused by Gluconacetobacter liquefaciens that could lead to serious, life-threatening adverse health consequences. To date, Vi-Jon, LLC is aware of 3 (three) reports of serious adverse reactions potentially related to this recall.  Vi-Jon, LLC is in the process of investigating these reports.

The product is used for relief of occasional constipation (irregularity) and generally produces bowel movements in ½ to 6 hours. The product is packaged in a 10 oz clear round plastic bottle.

The affected brands of Magnesium Citrate Laxative Oral Solution Lemon Flavor manufactured at Vi-Jon, LLC in Smyrna, TN and sold by Kirk Market are:

• Best Choice 10oz Cherry Citrate (UPC 070038587903) (NDC #63941-516-38)
• Cariba 10oz Lemon Mag Citrate (UPC 646702057012) (NDC #67860-166-38)

All affected products have been removed from our shelves. In order to keep our customers as safe as possible, we are requesting that if you have purchased any of these products from Kirk Market, you are urged to cease use and dispose of them immediately or return the product with the receipt for a full refund.
